The Community Development Internship will give you an opportunity to learn how to engage in mobilization of local communities to work for a common agenda; form social groups; work with communities to build capacity; builds social capital focusing on cooperation between individuals and groups to produce positive community development outcomes. The process involves community based participatory planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; community members' standard of living is cross cutting through all sectors.
Reason to participate in community development projects
Engaging in community development projects is an opportunity for you to work along with local Ugandan communities who are striving to adopt the initiative of starting small scale development projects in a bid to meet their livelihood needs. Working to improve the infrastructure and basic amenities could also go along the way towards this goal and also increasing overall community assets. Keeping the communities physically healthy, encouraging resource sharing, and building micro - economic opportunities is critical to this accomplishment and also removing community poverty traps.
Volunteer & Internship opportunities in community development
Volunteers or Interns who will work on any of community development projects, will learn about the sustainable development model of empowering grass root community groups on the dynamics of providing support in enabling people build their capacities to leverage their community assets to improve their livelihoods .

Energy saving institutional improved cook stoves - introduce improved energy saving cook stoves in selected schools in Jinja District
The project is meant to introduce 10 model improved energy saving cook stoves in 10 selected schools in Jinja District after students carrying out a more in depth energy requirements for each school.
